Our Story
Oston Charity Foundation was created from lived experience and real community needs.
We have seen how quickly life can change through illness, job loss, family emergencies, or unexpected hardship. In those moments, people often don’t need large sums of money. They need timely help, understanding, and someone willing to stand with them.
At the same time, we noticed another important truth:
many people want to help, but believe their contribution is too small to matter.
That belief became the foundation of Oston.
Where Oston Began
Oston first began in Tajikistan in 2020 as a community-driven initiative. During this time, we gained hands-on experience in:
Fundraising for urgent and emergency needs
Supporting families facing medical and financial hardship
Coordinating community-based assistance responsibly
This early work taught us how to evaluate real needs, distribute help carefully, and build trust within the community.
Oston in the United States
After relocating to the United States, Oston entered a new chapter.
Today, Oston operates primarily for the Tajik community in the United States. Our focus is to support individuals and families within this community who are facing difficult life situations and need timely assistance.
We did not start from zero. We brought with us:
Practical fundraising experience
A clear understanding of community needs
Lessons learned from real-world support efforts
In the U.S., Oston is being rebuilt within a stronger nonprofit framework, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Focused Today, Open to Tomorrow
At this stage, Oston’s mission is focused on the Tajik community in the United States.
As our capacity grows and resources allow, we hope to expand similar support models to other communities and countries in the future. Any expansion will be done responsibly and only when sustainable support can be ensured.
We believe it is better to help one community well than many communities poorly.
